Local Profile – Kerri Mutrie

Kerri joined the Rotary Club of Parry Sound in June of 2003. Her family includes her husband Roy Hardie, and two dogs and two cats – Kachina, Amber, Harley and Purrl respectively.

Kerri's early life was spent in Port Arthur, and later she moved to Toronto in 1963. Summer jobs got Kerri involved working at Ontario Crippled Children's Centre with thalidomide and cystic fibrosis kids helping them with recreation.

Kerri earned her B.Sc. from Trent University and her B.Ed. from Queen's. She taught in Toronto for 31 years -- Junior High Science/Math and Secondary School Math and Guidance in an Adult School. In the latter experience, Kerri worked with high-needs students and many immigrants. Many of her students had fled war-torn countries and were victims of torture.

Kerri now is grateful for the change to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Parry Sound.

In Rotary, Kerri has been the Director of Community Services and has been in charge of Program last year. She did an outstanding job at both! Kerri is a real asset to the Rotary Club of Parry Sound!

In the community, Kerri is active with the WPSHC Fundraising and Special Events committee. She enjoys walking, music, reading, and photography.

Kerri loves to travel, but has not been off the continent. She hopes to continue to be active with the Rotary club and with the community.

Welcome to Rotary, Kerri!
