Sharon is a local girl, born in St. Joseph's hospital, attended the old Central and Gibson elementary schools, the local Parry Sound High School and later Shaw's Business School in Toronto.
Sharon and husband John have each 4 children and together 11 grandchildren. They own Victoria Manor Bed &Breakfast in Parry Sound. Sharon Joined the Rotary Club of Parry Sound in 1994 and has held several positions. The first woman President with the Parry Sound Rotary Club in 1997-8, Vice-President, Past President, Club Service Director, Community Service Director, Vocational Service Director, Paul Harris Member. She has chaired many committees such as the Membership committee, Program committee, Special events, Youth projects and Adventure programs and has helped with Helping Kids Play, Dragon Boat, and on and on! Currently, in 2005-2006, Sharon is doing an outstanding job with the Program, along with fellow Rotarian Ray Pavlove. Our weekly Rotary business meetings are very informative and very interesting! Sharon is a Director with the Festival of the Sound, past Director with the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, active with the Stockey Centre Fund-Raising, Heart and Stroke Foundation Big Bike, and many church activities. Sharon enjoys cross-country skiing, biking, kayaking, gardening and travelling. Sharon has travelled most countries in Europe including Venice, many Caribbean islands, Australia, New Zealand, east and west coast of Canada and many U.S. states. Sharon believes in the ideals of Rotary and is proud to be part of the Rotary team. And we're glad you are too!
